Another perk of summer is that the Artisan Home Tour is open in June.
If you’re in the market for a luxury home, it’s a great place to check out all of the builders – but it’s also just fun to tour. There’s plenty of inspiration and, if you’re paying attention to the details, you’ll find creative ideas for any budget. (Better hurry, though, because this is the last weekend.)
I set aside some time last Friday to tour some of the homes in the western suburbs, so I’ve seen about 1/3 of the the homes so far. It was a beautiful day, and totally worth the drive and the price of admission…
Mini snippets from the tour.
Masterful mudrooms.
It was fun to see all of the different mudroom ideas. Functional, beautiful, creative, and with great storage options.

Stunning bedrooms.
There were so many really beautiful bedrooms, but this barrel vaulted ceiling truly was stunning. And that wall of windows. And that VIEW!

All kinds of beautiful fireplaces.
There was an interesting mix of fireplace designs in a variety of configurations and materials.
I liked the mix of cultured stone and slate on this one, and I really liked the room it was in. To the right of that fireplace is nothing but windows and a beautiful view.

And laundry rooms.
Laundry rooms usually aren’t super large so making an impact with the materials and details is key. They definitely did that in the second floor laundry of this home, and it’s my favorite one so far on the tour.

Aaah.ma.zing. kitchens.
The kitchens were all beautiful, and I honestly didn’t see one I didn’t like.
This one definitely stood out, though. That custom range and vent hood was unlike anything I’d seen before – the photo only shows 1/2 of it! (And this homeowner is a single guy. But. He loves to cook. :-) )

And heart eyes for this little gem of a kitchenette in the guest apartment of that same home.
It was more my size and the moody gray walls, crisp white cabinets, mellow wood floors, and warm gold accents made for a cozy and inviting space.

Bathrooms.
Bathrooms thus far on the tour have ranged from glamorous and stunning to cute and cottagey and everything in between.
This one – glamour all the way.

The soft color palette and design elements in this one caught my eye. Loving that grayed-down blue green.

Creativity.
This wallpaper designer, from France, created the paper by collaging photos from his Instagram feed. And, no, I didn’t get creative with photography here. How you see it – focused in the middle and blurred as you move out – is actually how the wall looks.

Just one example of the creativity I saw in my spin through these homes.
Beautiful living and family rooms.
Much like the fireplaces, there were living and family rooms designed in all shapes, sizes, and styles with a little something for everyone.
I may have been swayed a tish by the beautiful furniture selection here ;-), but this living room was really a top choice for me. It was inviting, had a great mix of materials, and I loved the bench and creative use of shiplap on the walls and ceiling.

(You can see more of this living room here.)
I’ll be taking advantage of this final weekend to finish my tour. How about you? Have you or will you be touring any of the homes?

Love all of these!! Where are the laundry room floors from??
Hi Niche – The pictures were all taken in model homes so, unfortunately, we don’t have information on flooring. The builders are noted underneath each image though so you could check with the builder if you’re interested in a specific one.
Love the Lecy fireplace! Porthole in the Stonewood gourmet kitchen was also a really neat touch for a lakehome. Really great pictures all the way around and full of inspiration!!
I liked the porthole too Natalie – fun and unique idea!
