By this time in the year most of us have moved our family meal time from the patio to the indoor dining room. And, even though this week’s beautiful weather may have us reconsidering that decision, it’s a perfect time to discuss dining room design style.
We’ve identified 3 main design style directions (thanks to Susan and Chad!) that encompass our current product mix, and we’re wondering…
Which style is yours?
Dining Room Design Style
1. Cozy at Home
The Cozy at Home style embraces casual and distressed finishes, soft colors, and lots of texture to create an inviting and comfortable sanctuary.
Go with the warm and cozy Minnesota Casual style which incorporates rustic and/or painted furniture pieces, deeper finishes, and styles inspired by lodge and lake home living.
2. Modern Directions.
Modern Directions is a great choice when you’re looking for modern design with sophisticated style.
The strong rectilinear shapes, unique and sophisticated finishes, metallic accents, and subtle contrasting tones of neutral colors all combine to create environments that are interesting and dynamic… never boring!
3. Urban Elements
Perhaps the most eclectic of style directions, Urban Elements combines unique combinations of vintage, industrial, mid-century and Scandinavian all into one delightful blend. These casual yet well-designed spaces use a fun mix of elements as well – like reclaimed woods, iron, stone or concrete tops, and fabrics with color, pattern, and texture.
It’s a style that’s creative, organic, hip, sometimes funky, and highly personalized.
Of course the images in this post are just a very small representation of the ways that these dining room design styles can play out.
