We really look forward to spring here in Minnesota, especially right about now. The temps are starting to hint in a positive direction, while the fresh new snow on the ground is saying something altogether different. But no matter which wins out in the short-term, we’re itching to bring spring inside before it’s “official”.
Here are five ways to get a jump start on your spring decorating, and give your space a boost:
1. Fresh color.
No matter how much you may love neutrals, there’s something about spring decorating that begs for a fresh pop of color.
It’s the perfect time to soften your space with some trending pastels, or test out that brighter, bolder color you’ve been eyeing.

2. Bring on the flowers and greenery.
There obviously aren’t an abundance of spring flowers growing outside (yet), so this calls for compromise.
Bring home fresh flowers or plants from the store or use faux plants to bring some life and a splash of outdoors into your space.

3. Refresh accessories.
Exchange the warm, cozy pillows and throws of winter for ones that are lighter, brighter or more nature-inspired.
Add spring-inspired art and accessories. and swap out heavy rugs for lighter, more colorful, or natural fiber rugs.

4. Spread the sparkle.
Sparkling clean windows have a way of making everything seem brighter and better, so get a head start by washing the inside of your windows. Then add outside window washing to your to-do list for as soon as it’s feasible (or contact your window cleaning company and get on their list to avoid the spring rush).

5. Rearrange and reflect.
Fall and winter are great times to focus furniture arrangements around the fireplace, but spring decorating calls for a fresh perspective.
Consider rearranging furniture to take better advantage of windows and outside views. Even though it may still be snowy out there, you’ll love the new spin on your space and you’ll be all set to watch spring unfold!
