The Friday 5 – This and That

1. Bookshelves in the Kitchen.

Not every kitchen can handle a bookshelf, but it’s interesting the way adding a piece of furniture gives a more unique and inviting feel.

(The rustic industrial style of this urban gold bookcase, or this bookcase etagare would be perfect.)

2. Simple Fall Mantel.

Proof that when decorating a fireplace mantel, simple (and different) can be good.

3. Unique Wallpaper Idea.

Grace from A Storied Style had a favorite image of her kids made into a mural, and used it as wallpaper in this bathroom remodel. (Couldn’t believe the “before” of this bathroom – pretty amazing transformation!)

4. Cozy Living Room.

We always love seeing our furniture in homes!

The colors in our Evie chair and accessories provide the perfect pop against the neutrals in this living room at The Boulders Apartment and Townhomes in Rochester.

5. Harvest Hash.

There are a ton of variations on this theme, but this one from House of Hendrix looks particularly yummy. I need to try it.  Soon. Recipe here.

We were looking for a way to add an accent piece to our kitchen while still adding valuable storage. We ended up adding a shallow bookcase that allows us to display my favorite cookbooks, store different baking flours (and sugar) in sealed clear jars, and keep our teas organized next to our favorite mugs! Eventually I’d like to update to a more industrial and rustic bookcase!
