The Friday 5: Organizing Ideas

Happy New Year!

Wow. It’s January 1. A new year and a fresh start – which for many of us means resolving to get, and stay, more organized.

If you’re one of those, these links will be just what you’re looking for.

1. Organized Display

Some things are best organized and stored in plain sight, like this hat display from A Beautiful Mess.

Get creative, think outside the box, and accessorize and organize at the same time!

2. Holiday Decorations

Some may have already started taking the holiday decorations down, and some like to keep them up as long as possible, but at some point we’ll all be packing them away.

If your ornaments are a mess, Good Housekeeping has some creative storage ideas in their 10 Tricks for Storing Your Christmas Ornaments slideshow.

3. The January Cure

If you need a little extra help and motivation to get and stay organized, Apartment Therapy’s January Cure might be for you.

They provide 21 do-able assignments throughout January to move you toward a cleaner, more organized home. Sounds like a good idea! (image: Apartment Therapy)

4. Organizing the Closet

Organizing the closet sometimes seems to be a never ending task, but BHG has a slideshow of Top Organizing Tips for Closets that will help. (image: BHG)

Using PVC pip to organize scarves and ties was my favorite.

5. A Clean House

Cleaning and organizing go hand in hand – it’s really hard to have one without the other.

PopSugar offers simple, practical tips on how to create daily habits that lead to a clean, organized home in this article: 9 Things People With Clean Houses Do Every Day. (image: PopSugar)
