The Friday 5: Creative Ways to Display Family Photos

photo ledges from Chris Loves Julia

Displaying family photos somewhere in our home is important to most of us, and you can only have so many sitting in frames on tabletops or bookshelves.

Some creative ideas to consider…

1. Photo Pillows:

Not sure you would want a room full of family photo pillows, but one or two could be really fun!

2. Hanging Out:

Shanty2Chic added hooks and chains to each framed family photo and then hung them from finials.  It makes the photo display more impressive and easily fills the space.

3. Photo Wallpaper:

Many people are using Instagram to document family memories, but sometimes it’s nice to have a printed version of at least some.

A Beautiful Mess went big with her DIY Insta wallpaper (tutorial here).  Even though we’re pretty sure this isn’t the solution for everyone, it does look great doesn’t it?

4. Canvas Photos:

Transferring photos to large canvases, whether in black and white or color, makes for such a great look that works with any design style. (The images below were made at Snapfish. image source)

5. Family Tree:

We love the idea of transferring family photos on to a slice of wood – a great way to display favorite photos while adding rustic texture to your space!  Tutorial here.
