Twin Cities Artisan Home Tour 2015 – Model Home

Twin Cities Artisan Home Tour - Love all the design details on this beautiful two-story home

The Builders Association of the Twin Cities Artisan Home Tour kicks off today and will run for the next 3 weekends, ending on June 21st.

The Tour features 22 newly constructed homes, and this year they’ve also added four remodeled homes that will be available for viewing (final weekend only).

Wooddale Builders’ model home located at 7009 Lee Valley Circle, Edina is one of the homes that you’ll see on the Tour. The impressive two-story home sits on a half acre lot in the heart of west Edina overlooking Lewis Park.  It has 6,072 finished square feet, 5 bedrooms and 5 baths and a finished 3-car garage.

We’re so pleased that they’ve once again chosen Schneiderman’s for their furnishings!

The Friday 5: Five Signs Of Spring!

Spring Collage - Schneidermans the blog - image sources in post

We’re closing in on the first day of Spring (March 20th) and I’m ready for it, aren’t you?  Besides the official date being so close, here are five other signs that spring is just around the corner.

1.  Daylight Savings. We spring ahead at 2:00 a.m. this Sunday and the extra light in the evening is definitely worth losing an hour of sleep for IMO.  I love all of the invigorating daylight that spring and summer brings!

2.  The 2015 Spring Parade of Homes started last weekend and will run every week (Thurs-Sun, 12-6 pm) through March 29th.  It’s free this year (except for the 3 Dream Homes), so that’s even more incentive to go check it out.  The image below is from our 2014 model home tour blog post this past fall and we plan to bring you another one from the spring parade.

Parade of Homes 2014 : Model Home Tour

SchneidermansFurniture WooddaleBldrs Model Home Foyer

We already know that fall brings some really good things, and one of those is the Fall Parade of Homes!  An excellent opportunity to see great home designs and ideas for your dream home.

Wooddale Builders is one of the Parade participants, and they’ve furnished more Parade Homes with furniture from Schneiderman’s again this year!  I toured their model at Stone Bay in Orono last week, and thought you might enjoy getting a little peek at what I saw.

The first image (above) is from the foyer, and one of my favorite things (in addition to our beautiful patterned metallic hall chest and great artwork!!) was the orb chandelier.  Definitely right on trend, and it was a perfect choice for the staircase.

Hanging on the other side of the foyer was one of our favorite leaner mirrors.  You can see the reflection of a small part of the living room built-in, and a peek into the kitchen area and porch beyond.

Off to the right of the foyer was an office with a soothing grayed-down green paint color, a pretty geometric carpet and, of course, more great artwork and furniture.

This view of the kitchen gives you an idea of how it’s laid out in relation to the office/foyer, as well as a chance to see the nice combination of neutrals in the cabinet, back splash and granite.

Below you can see just a small glimpse of the beautiful setting of this model home in the background, and the porch is perfectly positioned to take in the view.  It was a beautiful day when I visited, and I wouldn’t have minded hanging out in our comfy patio furniture for a while!

The wall color in the main living area of the upstairs was a soft gray, complimented by crisp white cabinetry.  Our Lily Sofas and nesting cocktail tables with matching end tables make for a nice transitional look in the living room.

This closeup highlights the ebony trim, an interesting design detail, that was seen throughout the entire home.

The office wall color was carried into the bedroom, and they used the gray in our headboard, pillows and artwork to pull in the gray from the living area.  Another great light fixture in this space!

The basement had a slightly warmer wall color and a stone fireplace, giving it the cozy vibe that you want for a family room/game room.  Our Kateri table, chairs and sideboard work perfectly on this side of the family room.

Cushy pillows in orange and neutrals, a comfortable sectional, glass-based tables in a dark finish, and our gray Carissa chairs (don’t you love the shape?!)  finish off the look.

The Kateri line made its way into the bedroom as well in the queen bed, bureau/mirror and matching nightstands.  We love the unique look that the combination of poplar and rustic birch with ebony exteriors gives this whole collection.
