April showers bring May flowers… and potentially the need for a space to kick off muddy boots and hang up the raincoats and umbrellas.  Fall and Winter bring heavy coats, scarves and more boots. And whatever the season, it’s nice to have a place to keep it all organized.

The Friday 5: Creative (and Functional) Design Details

One of the fun things about designing a space is coming up with details that make it more functional and unique.  And one of the fun things about Pinterest is being able to see what everyone else is coming up with :-).

1. Hidden Pantry.

The Friday 5: Color, Collections, Organization and More

1. BHG recently announced their 2015 Color Palette.  Here’s what they had to say about it “Hello, optimism! 2015 is all about a new outlook in vibrant color: greens as lush as a tropical leaf, chameleonlike corals, and grays that drip with drama.”  Thoughts?

The Colors

(In other color of the year news: Benjamin Moore chose Guilford Green, Sherwin Williams chose Coral Reef,  Pantone chose Marsala, and Elle Decor interviewed designers for their color choice.)

2.  The white vases on this fireplace mantel are a perfect example of why it’s more effective to group a collection of items together than to scatter them around the room.  It not only creates order but has much more impact.  source
