The July 4th holiday is almost here, and we thought we’d start celebrating early by whipping up a mood board for your outdoor spaces.
We were inspired by the patriotic color palette, of course, and wanted something that alluded to it without being too overly themey. Every good room starts with an inspiration piece, and this rug provided the perfect one for this patio. We loved it’s overscaled paisley pattern and fun mix of colors.
Next up were the sofa and chair, which are made up of a woven vinyl that’s made for the outdoors. The slate blue fabric has a fresh, modern feel and the contrasting pillows add interest and lighten the look.
We couldn’t design an outdoor space without including a firepit, and the Brisbane offered a unique shape, and the ability to multitask as a cocktail table. Win-win! A coordinating end table provides another spot to set a drink or lamp.
Patios are usually open to the elements, and we chose a red umbrella to provide shelter from the sun and summer showers. Of course, the red also help to complete our red, white and blue theme.
All that was left now were the finishing touches. A lamp, metal LAKE sign, and a floral bouquet add texture and personality to round out the look.
The look of this outdoor space is fresh, bright, and not too heavy on the theme. It would be perfect for your patio at the lake, or anywhere you enjoy relaxing outdoors.

We’ve just passed the first day of summer and July 4th is almost here. As with most holiday weekends, many of us will be spending time with family and/or friends.
With that in mind, today’s recipe is a simple appetizer that’s easy to make and take to a picnic, potluck, holiday get-together, or anywhere else people are getting together and want to eat great food!
