If you’ve seen our posts on social media, you probably already know that we shot some new room settings this week. It was a busy, but very successful and well orchestrated, effort between our design and delivery teams and the photographers. I’m always in awe of how well they pull it off.
Partially because I’m ready for spring (and this was definitely hinting in that direction), and partially because it’s just so interesting and well done, this little vignette was one of my favorites.
Our team styled the Meadow Dresser, but the basic principles they used can be applied to a console table or a variety of surfaces with accessories of your choosing. (Or just use this dresser in the living room, like we did in this post.)

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO STYLE A CONSOLE TABLE
1. Layers
Layering art is a fun way to mix things up and it, along with staggering the placement of the other accessories (rather than lining them up), adds depth and dimension.
2. Varying heights
If you use items with varying heights, it will force the eye to move up and down to take it all in – creating more interest.
3. Natural elements
Bring nature in, or even use permanent botanicals. This will have a softening effect, and adds life and movement.
4. Repetition
As you can see, we didn’t choose an arrangement that was completely matching. We also didn’t get carried away with a theme. If you look, though, there are certain elements that repeat and/or relate to others.
For example, the repeating dark frames tie in with the lamp and dresser hardware – or the branches, nest canvas, and butterfly that all have a nature theme.
5. Texture
A play of textures is important, and our stylists accomplished that with a mix of canvas, glass, metal, and branches. (And you definitely can’t beat the texture of the brick wall, right? We were all loving that.)
The accessory buyer for our stores does a great job of providing an interesting and ever changing mix of accessories, and if you’re looking for a console table, dresser, or chest we can help with that too! Stop in, shop, and try these tips.
