As we’ve mentioned before, our most recent room photo shoot took place in a Minneapolis warehouse loft. The design team created a variety of looks for two different spaces in the loft.
The backdrop for today’s featured room was the “white space”, and it was fun to see this room transform layer by layer, as each piece was added.
Our designers chose the gray Digby sofa and chair for seating – it’s clean lines, simple styling and smaller scale are perfect for a small living space. Chevron pillows added just the right amount of pattern and color, and a sweater pillow provides a nice little dose of texture.
A white lamp repeats the wall color and brings it into the seating area.
The ceilings in this space were tall and there wasn’t an option for hanging art directly on the wall. The design team’s creative solution turned out to be one of my favorite elements in the room.
ROPE. Such a simple thing, right? We loved the way it not only provided a hanging solution, but adds another interesting design element and draws the eye up – emphasizing the height of the room. (A great design trick to use in small spaces.)
Even small spaces need tables for things like lamps and pretty accessories, and to set drinks, books or a tablet. Tables with open bases were used to keep the space light and airy.
Last, but certainly not least, layered rugs make a unique statement and give cozy texture underfoot.
It was hard to choose an absolute favorite space from this shoot because they were all unique and I liked them for different reasons. This one was one of my favorites though.
