I’m so grateful for the people in my life and the kindness Schneiderman’s staff has been. This is my first holidays in my new home. Remembering why we celebrate these holidays is so important and becomes more prevalent as loved ones pass -Cherish the memories and make time to make new memories.

  21. Kelly November 19, 2015 at 1:58 pm #

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love that it is a holiday that focuses on being thankful for all the blessings in our lives. There are so many things in daily life to be thankful for, and often go unsaid, I love that for at least one day we are reminded of how much we all have. I also love the food (especially the stuffing), and spending the day with family.

  22. Melonie November 19, 2015 at 1:52 pm #

As a mother of 2 teenagers who often take much for granted, I am glad we celebrate Thanksgiving to remind us to be thankful. Our tradition is to share what we are most thankful for before we eat the amazing meal in front of us. I hope you all have a thankful tradition;).

  23. Erich November 19, 2015 at 1:42 pm #

Love our custom table from Schneiderman’s!

  24. Carly November 19, 2015 at 1:07 pm #

Would LOVE to win this! When my ex moved in, his furniture was nicer than mine, so we donated mine (should have stored it). Now that he has moved out, my family room is EMPTY! Dang, furniture (sofas, tables, etc.) is expensive! And second-hand/garage sale stuff isn’t cutting it. I am a horrible thrifter. :(

  25. Aaron November 19, 2015 at 12:53 pm #

Was in last night and really enjoyed the helpful people in store! Looking forward to getting the house ready for all the family who will be over for the holiday season.

No presents to buy or gifts to wrap — simply enjoying the day alone, with friends, with family or serving strangers, leaving time for the most important part of the day, giving thanks for your gratitude list.!

  45. Julie November 10, 2015 at 5:29 pm #

This year will be especially difficult for our family. This is the first time my mom won’t be able to celebrate with us. Even though her memory is gone, I will never forget how much she enjoyed being with all of us on Thanksgiving. One of my favorite memories has to do with making lefse. We would roll, fry, and package lefse for hours. Mom would always comment about the dough not being quite right (too much flour, not enough flour, wet potato’s, etc.). It didn’t matter because in the end we put butter and sugar on them, rolled them up, and ate them. They were always perfect to me.

  46. pesarita November 10, 2015 at 4:11 pm #

  48. Kristen LaB.... November 7, 2015 at 2:11 pm #

Thanksgiving is a peaceful, warm time at our home. We enjoy celebrating with family and anyone who is alone for the holiday. We like to open our doors and invite people over that are struggling and need a safe, inviting place to relax. We always say, “The more the merrier”.

  49. Kristine Petersen November 7, 2015 at 8:15 am #

When I was young, I remember my mom making the turkey, mashed potatoes and this awesome gravy! I am still trying to make this gravy! I miss family gatherings now that they are divorced.

  55. Patty November 5, 2015 at 9:48 am #

We have so much to be thankful for this year. Two new babies in the family. Two new homes. This year the whole family will be sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner at our new dining room table . . . recently purchased at Schneiderman’s! There’s nothing better than sharing a meal with the ones we love most!

  56. Sandy November 5, 2015 at 6:08 am #

  62. cheryl larimer November 4, 2015 at 7:49 am #

When I was growing up, Thanksgiving at my grandparents was a little boring for us kids. Now that I have grandchildren, we started having a hoiday mini pie eating contest (grandparents and grand kids) every year. Our time is about making memories and I think our grandchildren will remember all the fun we had together.

    • Cyndi Willis November 5, 2015 at 10:49 am #

      That’s such a great idea!

  63. Megan Zako November 4, 2015 at 7:24 am #

We lived overseas most of my childhood as a military family. No matter what country we lived in, Thanksgiving brought all of us together. My Dad was always home for Thanksgiving.

  64. Erin November 4, 2015 at 5:44 am #

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because of the time we get to spend with nearly all of our family. We like it so much, we celebrate twice every year: in Thursday and on Saturday!

  65. Barbara Alm November 4, 2015 at 4:58 am #

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the calm peace I feel with being with my family and especialy when I am holding my new Granddaughter and her toddler brother.

  66. Colleen Collins November 3, 2015 at 10:54 pm #

Every year I like to change it up on Thanksgiving…go to someone else’s house an experience how they celebrate Thanksgiving….make my family Thanksgiving staples…mashed potatoes, turkey, homemade gravy, Great Grandma’s homemade baked beans….stuffed celery. Got to have that food to keep old memories alive. Then go Black Friday shopping with my sister. My sister is pretty low key, but when shopping at Black Friday sales, she turns into someone I don’t know….she is looking for the ‘great” deal…she is walking so fast like she is in some kind of marathon….she talks to people which surprisies me as she normally is a reclusive person. I see a whole new side of my sister…her eye all lit up….her adrenaline pumping….makes me smile and laugh because it is all so nuts. LOL Happy Thanksgiving…memories just waiting to happen :)

  67. Angela Harvotich November 3, 2015 at 10:24 pm #

Having the whole family home and relaxing, the boys are watching football, my mom and I are cooking in the kitchen and sampling a lot…haha!!! And, mmm…the cranberries!

  68. anderoidx November 3, 2015 at 10:24 pm #

I want to thank the Lord our God for everything that he has given to me and my family and friends. We should be doing ‘Thanksgiving’ more often then just once a year. So start immediately and tell everyone you know and love that you are blessed to have them as family or as a friend. Share your love in person,, not on a phone if you can. And thanks to Schneiderman’s for the opportunity to post this.

  69. sharon November 3, 2015 at 9:09 pm #

its family and friends gathering. its the togetherness. best thanksgiving ever was when I was alone with my children and girlfriend. I was a newly single parent. I didn’t have much in material things..what I did have was my children, they had me, we had love and laughter. I will always remember that. we had many thanksgivings like that. sometimes less is more…it taught my children its not the food but FAMILY AND LOVE THAT MAKE THE HOLIDAYS AND EVERYDAY.

  70. Josephine Baynton November 3, 2015 at 9:05 pm #

Thanksgiving – blessings, food, football, Macy’s Day parade and if we are lucky, no snow until AFTER Thanksgiving (better yet, after Dec 1).

I love preparing thanksgiving meal all day to sit down with family at 2 to eat. Then watch the football game and then go over the ads for Black Friday shopping. Then later snacking on leftover dinner and eating home made Chex mix. Can’t beat the homemade Chex mix. It is the best part of thanksgiving. Oh, yeah and football and then I suppose family;)

My favorite part of that (besides being with loved ones of course) is that everyone brings side dishes or desserts to share, and it becomes such an awesome buffet of love-filled dishes that are not only delicious, but also a way to have a big variety and share favorite recipes or cooking methods. We are always very thankful for the loving and sharing atmosphere!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is actually the day after. For years, my whole Italian family gathers to make handmade ravioli and noodles. Everyone from my 92 year old grandmother to the youngest great grandchildren help out; making dough, rolling filling, or cranking the pasta maker. We have so many laughs and talk about our lives. It is a day I cherish each year!
