Before and After – A Neutral Sofa Gets The Blues

Before and after - light sofa gets the blues. Both of these living rooms have a great look - amazing how different the sofa looks.
Jonathan Louis Kelsey Estate – Neutral sofa or blue?

Do you ever see a room setting in one of our showrooms, and think “I really like it, but…”?  Maybe it’s too light, or too dark, or the fabric type needs to be different, or you don’t like the accent pillows, or…  We understand that, which is why we offer so many furniture pieces with custom order options.

It’s always fun to see what you do with those options, and today’s post is just one example of what can happen when you decide to step out of the box and customize furniture to suit your own unique taste.

Light and airy.

We really like everything about this light and airy space below (styled by Jonathan Louis).  In fact, we show the Kelsey Estate Sofa room setting in these exact fabrics on our showroom floor.

Hard to decide which look we like better - the neutral sofa or moody blue? Jonathan Louis at Schneiderman's

But what if this sofa got flipped on it’s head with a completely different look?  As in a dark and moody space?

Can you picture it?

Moody eclectic mix.

Andrea evidently could.  She went for a completely custom look for her Kelsey Estate sofa, and shared it with us recently on Instagram (here).

She mixed things up by using the Deauville Stone fabric on the large accent pillows, rather than on the sofa.  They’re a nice contrast against the plush blue (and oh-so-soft) Caprice Cerulean fabric that she chose for the sofa.   The orange Frou Frou pillows add a complimentary, and fun, pop of color and geometric pattern.

If you were looking to keep things light, walls in a warm white or soft gray might be a pretty predictable choice with this fabric combination. But Andrea bypassed predictable and opted instead for dark and moody walls. We love the sense of drama they add to her space!

We were happy that Andrea decided to share her space by tagging us on Instagram, and we always enjoy seeing what you do to make your furniture your own.  Because at the end of the day this whole furniture thing really isn’t about us or our style, it’s about you and yours.

The Jonathan Louis furniture line currently has over 300 custom basic fabrics and over 200 accent fabrics. So many possibilities for creating your dream space.

Great look in Andrea’s room and I love the style of the rug in the space – it makes the room for me!

Thanks for commenting Natalie! The rug really does make a statement, doesn’t it?
