THE ROOM
As seems to often be the case with these posts, the room is more about two elements in the room than the room itself.
This is a dining area from an episode of the HGTV Show Fixer Upper and, while it is a great transformation, there are two things that stood out when I looked at the image:
1. The word on the wall made with recycled, mismatched letters. I’m pretty sure it’s what made this a big hit on pinterest, and it’s definitely what made the room for me! Small word – major impact, and the fact that they’re mismatched both in size and finish adds way more interest than if they would have been perfectly matched.
2. A good example of how a space decorated in lighter, cooler tones can be warmed up for fall with the addition of a few accessories in a warmer color.
THE RECIPE
It’s appropriate that the word on the wall in our room is “YUM”, because that’s exactly what I thought when I saw these Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars. Let’s see — apples, caramels, cream cheese. Hmmm… Yep. I’m in. Perfect timing too, since it’s apple season! You can find the full recipe here.
ENJOY…
