Many times we think of furniture as being made only for a certain room or for a specific function in our homes but, when it comes to an accent chest especially, that’s just not the case!
We’ve already talked about the versatility of the ottoman, and the accent chest is just as versatile – in a different way.
Here are just some of the ways these multi-tasking pieces can be used:
1. Personality, style and color.
When you need a unique piece in any room to add personality, a pop of color, or to make a style statement, an accent chest is there for you.
2. Accent chest = storage.
A great storage option in any room for tucking away those things that you need to keep out of sight, but within reach.
3. As a nightstand.
Mix up your night stand situation by using a chest instead.
Or, in twin-bed rooms where space is limited, place an accent chest between the beds.
4. Corner or nook.
That awkward little corner or nook that needs a little something to fill it just might benefit from an accent chest!

5. In the nursery.
Stylish storage for a nursery, or add a changing table topper and you have a unique changing table.
6. In the office.
An accent piece can be much more interesting than your typical printer stand, and extra supplies can be stored in the drawers.
7. Dining room.
There are larger options, such as buffets, sideboards or servers that can be used in dining rooms, but an accent chest may take up less room in a smaller space and still provides storage and surface area to set things. (The one in this room reminds me of this piece.)
8. Foyer or entry.
Use a unique chest in the entry, along with a mirror or artwork and some functional and decorative accessories, to create a welcoming vignette for guests.
What is your favorite way to use an accent chest in your home?
Great idea for an accent chest instead of a night stand! Fun and easy way to change up the look of then bedroom a bit. Very cool to see you incorporating concepts from your previous posts too; the BOHO CHIC, decorating with blues, black & white, aqua color accents, and metallic accessories. You put them all together and you have one great step-by-step guide to transforming any home into a beautiful piece of art!
Good eye Bryan, and you’re absolutely right! Hope you have a great weekend!
